Accessibility:
There is a flat stoned pathway leading to the church, with accessibility ramp for wheelchair users at the main door. Flooring inside is laid to stone, with wide aisles. There are two separate stone steps at the altar.
Brief Description:
Also known as Threckingham, St Peters church is dedicated to St Peter ad Vincula. It contains three 14th century tombs. The Normans rebuilt the church in 1170, but an earlier church is mentioned in the doomsday book. It is claimed to have the best broached spire in England, and has been struck by lightening three times. The last being in July 1870. There are two faces carved on the outer stone. One of St Peter, carved in 1856 and another of a lady in veil and wimple, carved around 1310. It is a grade I* listed building.
