Brief description

https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/10705/

2026:

"A few miles upstream of Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of the Wye Valley, this ancient church is at the centre of a rural parish on the banks of the River Wye in Herefordshire. Sellack is the only English Church dedicated to the Celtic Saint Tysilio, who lived in Wales in the 7th century. Worship is at the centre of church activities with Bible Study on the 2nd and Eucharist on 4th Sundays of the month plus celebrations for special occasions – Candlelight Carol Service, Christmas, Palm Sunday (with the rare custom of Pax Cakes), Easter, The Bridge Service, Harvest and occasionally hosting a Benefice service. An ancient church with a fine steeple in a beautiful rural setting by the banks of the River Wye. The church has plenty of interesting features explained on information boards inside the church. We are on the Herefordshire Trail and welcome walkers stopping to rest and visit."

On foot, the Herefordshire Trail passes by the church as does a bridle path and other footpaths "

(Previous entry by SAB member:

"Leave the A49 just north of the Wilton Roundabout and take the right hand turn at the War Memorial.

Follow this road for a while until a sharp right hand bend with a turning on the left which you should take, signposted for Sellack Church.

Continue on this road until you reach a black cladded house when turn right, again signposted for the church and follow the lane until it forks, where keep right and the church appears on the right hand side.")
