Accessibility:

The main car park has disability parking bays which are close to the Interpretation Centre. It has disability access toilets open from 07:00am until 5:00pm. Many of the walks are across level footpaths with picnic tables and benches on route. Two manual wheelchairs are available to borrow from the Rangers office and a mobility vehicle is also available to hire.

Brief Description:

A site of ‘special scientific interest’ and covering 114 acres of grassland, heathland, woodland, marsh and a lake giving natural habitat to a vast range of wildlife. The Rangers office building has a Nature Interpretation Centre.

Directions:

From the A38 Devon Expressway between Ivybridge and Exeter take the exit onto the A382 south. Continue for about 273 yards/250 metres and the entrance will be visible on the east side of the road. Its car park has an Admission charge.

There is usually an ice cream van on site selling refreshments. Newton Abbot has a local Trago Mills shopping and leisure park and supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s. The town has plenty of high street shops, restaurants, cafés, and a museum and cinema.
