"Here at Swansea Grand Theatre we endeavour to make our theatre accessible to all. We are an historic building and we've made changes to ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible.
Booking: Our friendly Box Office team can provide seat recommendations and answer any questions you might have.
Our Box Office is open 10.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Saturday on non-show days and from 10.00pm until 15 minutes after curtain up on show days. For Sunday shows, Box Office is open 1 hour before the start time.
Parking: A number of blue badge spaces are available in the pay and display car park on Singleton Street opposite the theatre. The main theatre entrance has a large drop off area.
Wheelchair Access:
We have a lift in our Box Office foyer that provides access to the wheelchair spaces in the Grand Circle and the Arts Wing Depot Studio. There is level access for wheelchair users into the Stalls and the Malthouse Bar.
There are a limited number of wheelchair spaces, please contact our Box Office team to discuss your accessibility needs. We are unable to provide loose seats as companion seats, our wheelchair spaces will provide a fixed companion seat next to the wheelchair. Two wheelchair spaces are located at the back of the auditorium with easy access through our Stalls corridor. Our Front of House Team is on hand to assist you during your visit.
The Stalls area has one wheelchair space closer to the front with a side view of the stage. We cannot allow motorised scooters in this area due to size limitations. Should you choose this seat, we recommend visiting in a standard size wheelchair (36 inches tall, 25 inches wide and 32 inches long).
Please contact our box office team if you have any additional / different accessibility needs not covered above or if you feel you require more information. We will be happy to assist you further, you can contact us by phone 01792 475715 or email BoxOffice@swansea.gov.uk
Grand Circle and Upper Circle Seats:
There are two wheelchair spaces available in the Grand Circle. Customers must be able to evacuate via the staircase or transfer into an evacuation chair in an emergency. We also advise any customers with mobility needs to consider alternative seating in stalls. Our wheelchair space is located at the back of the auditorium with a central view.
Grand Circle entrance: Width 1.4m Height 2m
Transferring from a Wheelchair:
Customers can transfer from a wheelchair or mobility aid into a seat; however, these must be stored outside of the auditorium in a designated area under the staircases. Customers should be confident to evacuate independently in an emergency. We ask that customers with accessibility needs attend with a companion to assist them throughout their visit.
Seating: The dimensions of our seats are
Width - 0.5m
Depth - 0.4m
Seat height - 0.4m
Legroom - 0.4m
If you feel this is unsuitable for your needs, please contact our Box Office team. The auditorium has several armless seats which provide a larger space and easier access for customers. These are in the Stalls and Grand Circle levels only.
Depot Studio:
The Depot Studio is located on the 3rd floor of our Arts Wing. There is lift access with accessible toilets and flat access into the studio. There are limited spaces for wheelchairs, therefore it is important to contact our Box Office team regarding your accessible space.
