Brief Description:
Talley Abbey was founded in the 12th century by Rhys ap Gruffydd (the lord Rhys) for the Premonstratensian order. The abbey was dissolved in 1536 due to a lack of income. You can see the remains of parts of the abbey church, including parts of the tower and a few remnants of the cloister.
St Michael and All Angels church was built in 1773, partly from the ruins of the abbey. It is still in use today as a Christian place of worship.
