Accessibility:

There are designated disability parking spaces available in each car park, as well as ones immediately outside the House and Stable Courtyard. There is ramped access to the House and Shop and the Tea Rooms are level. A lift provides access to all floors for wheelchair users, however there is no wheelchair access to the south wing of the House or the cellars. Note that electric wheelchairs are not allowed in the house, however a manual wheelchair is available to borrow during a visit.

There is an audio tour enhancement available for visitors who are hard of hearing.

Temple Newsam House is a country mansion originally built in 1518, noted for being the birthplace of Lord Darnley, notorious husband of Mary Queen of Scots.

Opening Hours:

From 13th February to 30th October, the main house is open from 10:30am to 5pm from Tuesdays to Sundays and closed on Mondays.

From 1st November to 12th February, the main house is only open via a pre-arranged appointment - though the shop, café and farm will be open as usual.

The house, farm and café are open on bank holidays excluding Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Adults: House £5, Farm £3.70, House & Farm £7.40.
Children: House £2.50, Farm £2.40, House & Farm £4. Children under 5 years old go free.
Families: House £10.50, Farm £9.90, House & Farm £17.00. (Two adults and 3 children between the age of 5 and 16.)
