"The Clock House in Stanstead Abbots, Hertfordshire, is a Grade II* listed building with a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Located at 9 Cappell Lane, it was originally constructed around 1636 by Sir Edward Baesh as a free grammar school for the sons of local inhabitants. The Clock House was sold in 1913 and has since been converted into a private residence. Despite alterations, it retains much of its original character and continues to be a prominent feature at the eastern end of Stanstead Abbots High Street."
