There are two disabled parking spaces at the front of the building, a long stay car park further along the road as well as time-limited on-road parking. The building is fully-accessible, has level access and has a lift up to the first floor. There are disability toilets located in the gallery area as well as on the first floor; when entering through the accessibility door there is a disabled lift which gives access to the Gallery as well as a lift located in the foyer which gives access to the rest of the building. So, 2 lifts – one to access 1st & second floors, and the second is a disabled lift to allow access to the gallery/shop located on the ground floor of the building.
The Gate was an old mill that has now been converted and adapted as exhibition space, with conference and meeting rooms, a library, and artists’ studios that are available for rent. The shop is always manned by a member of staff who is able to assist with any queries from 10.30-4.30 Tuesday to Friday, 9.30-1.00 Saturday. The Library is run by Carmarthenshire libraries and is only staffed for a limited amount of hours 3 days a week – all information is available via its website www.the-gate.org. When the library reopens it will be 1.30-4.30 Tuesday, 1.30-4.30 Thursday and 10.30-1.30 Friday.

The centre is on Pentre Road in the town of St Clears in Carmarthenshire. There are three exits off the A40 for St Clears, any one of which will take you onto Pentre Road.
