Mount Pleasant Windmill, North Cliff Road, Kirton in Lindsey, North Lincolnshire
Details
Accessibility
The windmill is a historic building, and while efforts have been made to accommodate visitors, some areas may have limited accessibility due to the nature of the structure. It's advisable to contact the mill directly to inquire about specific accessibility needs.
Brief description
Originally, the mill operated with three pairs of millstones, including two pairs of Peak stones and one pair of French burr stones. Today, only the Peak stones remain, sourced from the Peak District. The mill ceased wind-powered operation in 1933 and later used a diesel engine until 1973. In 1991, it was restored to working condition and has been producing organic stoneground flour since.
