2023: "Mobility services: Wheelchairs and other mobility options are available to hire from the customer services desk in the Main Dome.

Free wheelchair hire*, £20 refundable deposit

Mobility scooter hire*, £20 refundable deposit, £3 per hour hire charge

Annual Membership*: Covers hire of scooter or wheelchair for up to 5 hours a day for a year. Please call 0161 749 1720 for details.

Monday to Friday 10am - 10pm (last hire at 9pm)

Saturday 10am - 9pm (last hire 8pm)

Sunday 10am - 6pm (last hire 5pm)

ID required. Pre-booking on via our email is recommended but not essential, TraffordCentre.Mobility@savillspm.co.uk 

Once you have finished using your wheelchair mobility scooter, we ask if you can kindly return it to the kiosk, if you have somebody with you that is able to do this.

"The Trafford Centre's unorthodox style of architecture was prompted by the wish to offer a unique shopping experience. John Whittaker, chairman of Peel Holdings, had to convince architects that a lavish design would not alienate shoppers. Peel Holdings were keen to avoid the problem that afflicts many shopping centres after years in use whereby they become dated and stale, this has become a problem for many dilapidated shopping centres in the United Kingdom that were built in the 1960s and 1970s. Although the extravagant Rococo and Baroque design may be viewed as gaudy the prospect of the shopping centre ageing and becoming dated is greatly mitigated."
