Brief description

"We are Experience Belfast, and we are Arthur Magee, Seán Docherty and Steve Malone - we’re the original walking tour for Belfast City Centre, started in 2009.  Our aim is to entertain, engage and inform, and we also like to laugh!  We’ve consistently delivered quality tours, receiving TripAdvisor ‘Certificates of Excellence’ (10 in total) for every year of operation.  The tours are factually based with a personal touch to provide you with an experience that will stay with you long after you’ve returned home.  From the ‘Troubles’ to music and culture, we cover all aspects of the story as local guides who know and love the city.

Tours begin outside the front gates of Belfast City Hall.  During introductions, you will receive your audio headset.  We start by going into the City Hall grounds.  Afterwards, we move into the city centre passing the sites of security cordons and bomb blasts.  We travel past some wonderful modern art, winding our way through some of Belfast's famous Entries, historical sites of revolution and intrigue.  We move towards the scenic River Lagan which provides great photo opportunities before walking to the Big Fish, which you can kiss if you like!  Turning back towards the city centre, we pass the magnificent Custom House and the Leaning Tower of Belfast - The Albert Clock.  We move into the vibrant Cathedral Quarter, home to some wonderful mural art and the centre of Belfast's music, theatre and arts scene.   Winding through another Entry we pass the locations of incredible historical significance, finishing with a visit to a historic church that sits at the centre of Irish history.  There's plenty to see on this tour but in Belfast, often it's not what you see, it's what you don't see that tells the real story.  We provide a fully detailed explanation of what is hidden in plain sight and what lies below the surface, and we do so in an entertaining way.  The tour is not suitable for children aged 12 years and younger - some of our local history is quite gruesome."
