Accessibility

The museum, shop and cafe are fully accessible, with ramps throughout, as are some parts of the clay works. The country park and nature trails have some slopes and uneven surfaces. The car park is on slight slope. There is a drop-off area directly outside the entrance.


Brief Description

Wheal Martyn is the UK's only clay mining museum and incorporates an interactive learning experience at the visitor centre with nature trails and woodland walks around the original Victorian china clay works. It's also home to Cornwall's largest working waterwheel.

Directions

Situated between St Austell and Bugle, on the B3274. From A30 turn off at Victoria junction. Follow signs for Roche then B3274. Wheal Martyn is well signposted from surrounding areas, including A30 and A390.
