Brief description

The Windmill was in use from 1817 to 1864, the machinery was then removed and it was converted to residential accommodation. In 1976 the first floor was opened as a museum which was extended to the whole building in 1998.  Please see https://www.wimbledonwindmill.org.uk/history

This family museum has exhibits which cover windmills and milling, local history and the Scouting movement.
On the first floor children can have a go at milling some flour. There is a saddle stone, a mortar and a hand quern, and a supply of grain is provided for the children to use.

Outside the museum there are examples of English and French millstones and farm machinery.
