Entrances to Woburn Abbey and its tea room are wheelchair-accessible, with ramps provided where required. There are a number of stairs in the Abbey, with banisters and handrails. However, ONLY THE GROUND FLOOR of the Abbey is accessible in a wheelchair; wheelchair users can purchase a reduced price ticket.
Paths around the gardens are tarmacked; there are no hand rails.
Only Assistance Dogs are allowed in the Abbey or the Gardens. You can take your dog, Assistance or otherwise, to the Deer Park, if kept on a lead.
Brief description
Woburn Abbey & Gardens is part of an historic estate that has been in the Russel family for over 400 years. The Abbey, formerly a monastery, is the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Bedford; it is surrounded by award-winning gardens, a deer park and, a short distance away, a safari park.
