Brief Description:

Ashburton is a small town on the edge of Dartmoor and the A38. Its original wealth and prosperity came from its tin mines and woollen mills, as well as being a major trading centre for these commodities. The last tin was mined in the 1970s. Ashburton holds one of the oldest carnivals in Devon.
