Accessibility:

Free car park 50 meters away from the museum, with a single blue badge space only 3 meters away. A hearing loop is available. There is a lift to access the first floor of the museum, with 400kg maximum load. Motorised scooters cannot use the lift. Public toilets - including a disability toilet - are located near the accessible entrance on the ground floor. A RADAR key is not required.


Brief Description:

Bagshaw Museum was the house of a former Victorian mill owner, first opened as a museum in 1911 and named after its first curator, Walter Bagshaw.

Opening Hours:

From 1st March to 31st October, the museum is open from 11am to 5pm from Tuesdays to Fridays, 12pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday and closed on Mondays.

From 1st November to 28th February, the museum is open from 11am to 4pm from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 12pm to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and closed on Mondays and Fridays.

The museum is located on the north-east side of Wilton Park, south off of Woodlands Road.

Transport:

The nearest train station is in Batley, approximately 2 miles away from the museum. The nearest bus stop is on Woodlands Road, and has a steep hill between the bus stop and the museum.

There is a free car park 50 meters away from the main entrance, as well as a single blue badge space only 3 meters away.


Amenities:

There is a small refreshments area on the ground floor, with hot drinks, cold drinks, ice cream and snacks available. Space is a bit limited, however.

There is also a shop on the ground floor, offering confectionery, souvenirs and children's toys. A hearing loop is available within this shop.
