Accessibility:

Bankside has ramp access from Millennium Footbridge onto a pedestrianised walkway. Generally level ground but there will be pavements with raised curbs as in any city area.  Some pedestrian only areas.  If planning to visit a particular venue, please check directly with them for accessibility. Venues are well signposted.

Nearest car parks are in Great Suffolk Street (cash only, not 24hr) or the NCP across Southwark Bridge. Very limited Blue Badge on street parking.

Bankside is a district in the London Borough of Southwark situated on the banks of the Thames, it is an area rich in history and culture.  It has something to suit all tastes. Attractions to visit include the London Bridge Experience, Southwark Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe Exhibition, the Tate Modern, Borough Market, Galleries, Museums, Music venues and Theatres. Directions:

Bankside is centrally located opposite St Paul's Cathedral on the south side of the Thames, between London Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. Direct access across the river via Southwark Bridge and the Millennium Footbridge. OS TQ  319 805

Transport:

The London Congestion Charge Zone ( https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge/congestion-charge-zone) runs from Monday to Friday and motorists have ample signage to alert them to the entry points; only vehicles that are registered by the DVLA as ‘Disabled Tax-Exempt’ are NOT liable to the Charge. Disabled Tax-Exempt drivers can also use the Dartford Crossing without charge, which is a river crossing to the east of London which links the north and south of the M25 orbital motorway.  Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) automatically identifies the registration number plate of these vehicles so that their owners do not need to take any additional action.
Bankside is within the Congestion Charge Zone. If travelling by car, for specific directions it is best to use a satnav, but please be aware that the route may take you in and out of the Central London Congestion Charge zone. It is best to approach Central London using the excellent public transport. 

Nearest Stations:  London Bridge, Waterloo, Southwark and Blackfriars. The new Blackfriars' Station southern entrance provides direct access to Bankside.
