Disability parking bays next to the museum’s entrance. There is wheelchair access throughout apart from one of the farm buildings with an underground floor. There are accessible toilets available in the museum and in Jarrow Hall. A wheelchair can be borrowed free of charge if needed. These are subject to availability.
Brief Description:
A museum dedicated to the monk Bede who wrote extensively about the bible as well as the world around him. The museum allows visitors to explore his life as well as the Anglo Saxon way of life in Northumbria. The museum hosts replica buildings, exhibitions and talks.

Bede's World is located in Jarrow, on the south bank of the River Tyne, close to the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It is located 2 minutes from the A19 Tyne Tunnel south entrance (a toll tunnel).

By Metro
Bede's World is about a 20 minute walk from both Bede and Jarrow Metro Stations. Check via Google the route to walk or buses and taxis run from Jarrow Metro station, only a 5 minute drive from the museum.
By Bus
The number 27 bus stops close to the museum and runs regularly. Buses from Jarrow Metro Station going in the direction of South Shields stop near Bede's World before they reach the Tyne Dock stop listed on the timetables. Please check bus timetables for up to date schedules.
