We firmly believe that targeted improvements in the right areas can make all the difference and we are working with our visitors and local access groups to identify where the improvements are most needed and practicable to do.

" Large signs direct vehicles from the road and into the car park. The disabled car parking facility is located close to the principal visitor entrance (less than 50 metres). There are three allocated spaces on a gravel surface, if unavailable there is plenty of parking in the same area. The approach route to the admissions point and tearooms is kerb free paving slabs with a slight down hill gradient with plenty of passing space.
Reception & Admissions: A ramp is provided to the entrance of the admissions points with a small threshold onto a well lit level surface. The admission desk is at a lower level to allow comfortable use for wheel chair users and a hearing loop is available.
Tea Rooms:
There is a small ramp at the entrance to the Tearoom and a small step at the entrance threshold." (Please see our photos)
Brief description
"With its Georgian cottages running down to the river, Buckler's Hard is part of the 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) Beaulieu Estate. The hamlet is some 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of the village of Beaulieu. Shipbuilding at Buckler's Hard declined in the nineteenth century. During World War II, the village was used to build motor torpedo boats, and the river was a base for hundreds of landing craft for the Normandy invasion, Operation Overlord.
Today the hamlet is given over to tourism, with a small maritime museum and a modern yachting marina. Buckler's Hard was where Sir Francis Chichester began and finished his solo voyage around the world in the Gipsy Moth IV. " https://www.bucklershard.co.uk/attractions/
