Accessibility:


St Egwad's Church is located in the small rural village of Llanfynydd in Carmarthenshire and is therefore best accessed by car. There is roadside parking available outside the church and throughout the village.

Access into the grounds is up a stone step and through a lych gate. There is a concrete path that leads to the main entrance of the church. There is a step up into the church; however, the church is locked with the exception of when services are being held. In order to access the church when it is locked there is a sign in the lych gate directing visitors to nearby local residents that will be able to open the door for them. There is also a defibrillator within the entrance archway.


Brief Description:


St Egwad's Church was built in the 13th century. It was extended in the 15th century and underwent extensive renovations in 1861 where evidence of a fire had been recorded. The Church is situated in the Parish of Llangadog and Llandeilo, the grounds are maintained by local volunteers.

Directions:


From Carmarthen travel East along the A40 towards Llandeilo for approximately 7.5 miles. When you reach the village of Pontargothi turn left following the sign for Llanfynydd. Continue on this road for 5 miles until you reach the village.
