Accessibility:

There are plenty of pay and display parking spaces within the Cardiff Bay area, including disability spaces, next to some main attractions and venues. There is also off-street car parking on Bute Place (Pierhead Street Car Park: https://www.q-park.co.uk/parking/cardiff/q-park-cardiff-bay) and Stuart Street (Mermaid Quay car park: http://www.mermaidquay.co.uk/find-us/). The Wales Millennium Centre has a number of disability parking spaces for visitors which need to be booked in advance.
Most venues in the area have been regenerated in the past few years and so comply with modern accessibility regulations, including ramps and toilets with disability access.  It is still worth calling venues in advance to ensure specific accessibility requirements are available.

Brief Description:

The Cardiff Bay area covers a large swathe of what used to be one of the world's largest dockland areas. Since the use of Welsh coal (the dock's main export) has reduced over the past few decades the area fell into disuse. It is seeing a major refurbishment and regeneration project which includes many landmark buildings being brought back into use and new buildings created to house businesses and venues.

The Cardiff Bay area is home to such attractions as The Senedd (the seat of Welsh government), Pierhead (a dramatic terracotta building that once housed the administrative office for the Port of Cardiff), The Norwegian Church and Cafe, Mermaid Quay (food and entertainment complex), Doctor Who Experience (now closed down), Techniquest, and boat trips around the bay.
