Accessibility:
On-street parking in Cardiff can be tricky and limited but there are a large number of car parks (https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/cardiff/?arriving=201711071600&leaving=201711071800) most of which have designated disability spaces. You can also access the city centre using the Park and Ride system (https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/ENG/resident/Parking-roads-and-travel/parking/park-and-ride/Pages/default.aspx), which offers easy-access low-floor buses from all of its bases.
A leaflet containing information on parking, Shopmobility, accessibile toilets, RADAR, Changing Places and the accessibility of major venues within the city is available here: https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/235772/1580.11519.file.eng.pdf . Please note that Cardiff Shopmobility is closed on a Sunday.
Brief Description:
Cardiff, the capital city of Wales and the country's commercial centre, is the base for the Welsh national media and the National Assembly for Wales.
The metropolitan area is now home to a third of the population of Wales, but it began as a small town in the early 19th century and quickly grew when it became a major port for the shipping and transport of coal. It is a relatively new capital, being named capital city of Wales in 1955, but the city itself has roots as far back as 4000BC. Please see this website's venue description for the Cardiff Story attraction, where the Tourist Information Centre is based.
As well as major shopping areas the city includes some world class sporting facilities, and the National Museum of Wales, and Cardiff Castle.
