Accessibility:

This site is mostly accessible, with flat surfaces both indoors and outdoors and a wheelchair available to loan. Outdoors area near the wall has a gravel path which may be slightly bumpy, but is otherwise wheelchair suitable. Further access into the remains of the Roman street itself has a lot of loose gravel, large stones and bumpy paths - so is deemed unsuitable for wheelchair access. However, most areas of the Roman street can be seen from the safer gravel path nearer to the museum. An accessible toilet is available.

Audio tours are available for those with poor eyesight, and many signs around the venue also have braille writings on them. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Transcripts of the audio tours are available for those with poor hearing, and an induction loop system is available in the admission area and shop.

Two disability parking spaces are available in the car park directly outside the venue, but 18 more regular parking spaces are available in the very same car park.

Brief Description:

Hadrian's Wall showcases an early Roman settlement along a fortified stone wall where construction began in the 2nd century. There is a museum showcasing Roman artefacts and describing life in Corbridge around the 3rd century.  New presentation displays opening in 2018.
