Brief Description:

The Rheidol hydropower plant became operational in 1962 and is the largest of its kind in England and Wales. The labyrinth of pipes, reservoirs and power stations buried under the 162km square site harvests the energy from the rain that falls on the hills and generates enough energy to power over 12,000 homes.

The visitor centre offers information through videos and tours of the plant.

The site also offers classroom/meeting room facilities.
