Accessibility:
There are two on-site pay and display car parks, blue badge holders are also subject to charges. There is the main car park (sat nav S65 2BH) for the park, and the Museum car park (sat nav S65 2AA). All entrances have level access and the main entrance has automatic doors. There is a lift which provides access to the galleries on the first floor. There is step-free access to both the shop and the café. There are public toilets including wheelchair-accessible and baby-changing facilities. The wheelchair-accessible toilets are located in the Museum, garden house and water splash area. The water splash also has wheelchair-accessible changing facilities and hoist. There are wheelchair- and pushchair-friendly paths throughout the park. Mobility scooters are available to hire from the garden house for a refundable deposit.

Brief Description:
Clifton Park Museum is a Grade II Listed Building set in a Grade II Listed Park. It was originally Clifton House and was built in 1783 as a private residence for the Walker family. In 1891 the house was sold to Rotherham Corporation to be used as a municipal park. In 1891 Edward VIII opened the park and then the museum opened in 1893. The museum features exhibitions of early Rotherham, Victorian Galleries and Kitchen, and rocks and minerals found in Britain. There are also temporary exhibitions. Marriage ceremonies take place at the Museum and there are also rooms and areas of the park which are available to hire for events at a charge.

From Barnsley via M1. Take the M1 to junction 34, then take the A6109 exit to Rotherham/Meadowhall/Sheffield. At Meadowhall Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Meadow Bank Road/A6109 and continue for 1.6 miles. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto New Wortley Road/A629. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on New Wortley Road/A629. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Centenary way. At the roundabout take the 4th exit onto Centenary Way/A630. Turn left onto Drummond Street. Continue onto A6021. Turn left and your destination will be on the left.
From Sheffield via Sheffield Parkway. Take Gibraltar Street/A61 and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Derek Dooley Way/A61. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto Sheffield Parkway and continue to follow for 5.2 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Rotherway/A630. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto West Bawtry Road/A630/A631. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Centenary Way/A630. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Sheffield Road/A6021. Turn right onto Old Sheffield Road/A6021. Turn right onto Alma Road/A6021. Keep left to continue on Hollowgate/A6021. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Clifton Lane/A6021. Turn right and your destination will be on the left.
