Brief Description:

Sewerby Hall is a Grade I Listed Building which was built between 1714 and 1720. It is set in 50 acres of parkland. It underwent several alterations and improvements and was used as a residence up until 1934 when it was sold to Bridlington Corporation. In June 1936 the house and gardens were opened to the public by the aviator Amy Johnson. It recently underwent further restorations using a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The house has a museum which houses permanent exhibitions including the Amy Johnson Exhibition and also temporary exhibitions. The gardens are home to a zoo and several different themed gardens and picnic areas. There is a nine hole golf course, a bowling green, an orienteering course and a bandstand. There are also some holiday cottages within the grounds. Sewerby Hall can also be hired for events and weddings.
