Accessibility:
There is no on-site car park, the closest car park is on Durham Road a short walk away. There are designated blue badge parking bays on Mushroom Lane and Damer Street. There is ramped access into the main entrance of the museum. There is level access within the building and motorised scooters are permitted in public areas. There is also a wheelchair to borrow (please phone in advance to check availability). There is a lift serving the ground and first floor. There is a café serving food and drinks which is also wheelchair accessible. There are public toilets including wheelchair-accessible and baby-changing facilities. There are hearing induction loops within the museum and assistance dogs are welcome. Staff also receive disability awareness/equality training.

"There are three disabled parking spaces available toward the bottom of Mushroom Lane near the tennis courts (access to the museum from these is through the park).
- Blue badge holders may also park in the Pay & Display bays on Mushroom Lane, (near the Dam House entrance) and on Damer Street (near to the Weston Park gates) without the need to pay or adhere to the 4-hour max stay. Similar Pay & Display bays are also available for use a little further away on Northumberland Road.
- Wheelchairs are available to borrow on request – to book in advance of your visit, please email info@sheffieldmuseums.org.uk, or call 0114 278 2600 and press 0 to be put through to the switchboard.
- Weston Park Museum is fully wheelchair accessible. All exhibitions and displays are on the ground floor of the building and the upstairs activity rooms are easily accessible via the lift.
- We welcome trained Assistance Dogs to Weston Park Museum.
- Both our Sheffield Life and Times and Sheffield Stories galleries include videos and audio which can be heard in the gallery.
- Museum can be loud during busy periods, particularly weekends and school holidays between 11am – 3pm. We often welcome school groups during the week, but they tend to have left by early afternoon.

Accessible toilets are located at reception and in the main museum corridor on the ground floor and in the picnic space on the upper floor.
There is a Changing Places toilet just off the main museum corridor on the ground floor. It has a height adjustable changing bench, ceiling track hoist (max. load 200kg, sling required), height-adjustable wash basin, toilet with alarm pull cord and privacy screen. Access is via a Radar key, available from the museum foyer.

Brief Description:
Weston Park Museum is the largest museum in Sheffield and it is in a Grade II Listed Building. It opened as a museum in 1875 in Weston House which is set in Weston Park. It tells the story of Sheffield from prehistory to the present day. It houses permanent exhibitions as well as temporary ones. Permanent exhibitions include: Picturing Sheffield (in the art gallery), What on Earth (in the natural science gallery), and Beneath Your Feet (in the archaeology gallery). There is also space to hire for events and weddings. Within the grounds of Weston Park are a bandstand, lake and memorial. There is also an official weather station in the park outside the museum and the readings can be seen inside the museum.

From Chesterfield via A61 (12.8 miles). Head south on Spa Lane towards Hollis Lane/A632. Turn right onto Hollis Lane/A632. At the roundabout take the 4th exit and stay on Hollis Lane/A632. Merge onto Rother Way/A61 via the slip road to Sheffield/Sheepbridge/A619/Chesterfield. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A61. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit and stay on A61 for 5 miles. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Chesterfield Road South/A61. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Meadowhead/A61 and follow for 2.9 miles. Continue straight onto London Road/B6388. Slight right into Asline Road. Use the right lane to turn slightly left onto Bramall Lane/A621. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto St Mary’s Gate.
