Accessibility:
There is an on-site car park. The museum is mainly flat and level with good level access to exhibition rooms, aircraft hangers and catering and toilet facilities. The only part which is not accessible is the second storey of the Control Tower. There are toilets including wheelchair-accessible and baby-changing facilities. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Brief Description:
The Yorkshire Air Museum sits on the site of the former RAF Elvington base. It was a World War 2 airfield used by bomber crews. It is now a museum which represents the history of aviation in Britain. It has aircrafts ranging from pre to post World War 2 along with support vehicles, armoured vehicles and Fire and Rescue service vehicles. Buildings include a control tower and an exhibit area containing artefacts, uniform and documents. There is an on-site restaurant and a gift shop. There is also space to hire for events.

Directions:
Travelling from A1/M1 or A19 – head towards York, then as you approach the York Outer Bypass /A64, follow the National brown Air Museum signs around the bypass toward the A1079 (Hull) junction. Follow the signs to the Air Museum along the B1228 along Elvington Lane for 2 miles.
