Accessibility:

There is a private car park next to the castle, although no specific disability bay. The castle contains ramps/ slopes and manual doors. There are accessible toilets available as well as accessible changing rooms. All floors of the castle are accessible via a lift, including the roof. The max weight of the lift is 400kg. The steps throughout the castle are narrow and uneven.

On the roof there is an emergency voice communication system.

 

Brief Description:

Enniscorthy Castle is a 13th Century is open to visitors to explore, including the dungeon and battlements. Guided tours are available which include access to the roof of the castle.

Enniscorthy Castle is based in the centre of Enniscorthy town, on the N11, the main Rosslare to Dublin road and the N30, the main Enniscorthy to New Ross road.

There are also train services operated by Irish rail, http://www.irishrail.ie/, stopping at Enniscorthy train station.

It should be noted that the bus stop in Enniscorthy is an approximate 10 minutes walk from the Castle and the train station is a 15 minutes walk. The walk is up an inclined hill.
