Brief Description:
The former Barry Dock Office is now a council building for the Vale of Glamorgan. It was built in 1899 to be the General Office of Barry Railway Company. In 1984 the dock offices were badly damaged by fire, but the then owners - Associated British Ports - restored the building. Points to notice are the clock tower and dressings of Portland stone as well as the fact that the building is said to have 365 windows – one for each day of the year! Outside of the building is the statue of David Davies, the man responsible for the building of the docks.
