Accessibility

"Unfortunately not all of the building is accessible for those with disabilities. The railway is situated in a Victorian former school house and there is ramp access to the main room and cafe. However, certain parts of the railway are only accessible via a large step."

"Welcome to the Gainsborough Model Railway Society. Established in 1946 with the aim of producing a model railway that followed contemporary railway practice, over the past 80 years we have created one of the largest ‘O’ gauge model railways in the country, depicting the East Coast Main Line from Leeds Central to Kings Cross.

Look out for the Tesco Superstore. The road at the side is Colville Terrace, follow the road to Sandsfield Lane, the railway is opposite the end of the Tesco car park, in an old Victorian School and is well signed.

Please note – There is no on site parking at the clubrooms or on Florence Terrace, but there is roadside parking on Sandsfield Lane. The Tesco car park is also nearby and allows two hours free parking.

Transport

If you are travelling by train, our clubrooms are a 15 minute walk from Gainsborough Lea Road; served by regular trains from Nottingham, Lincoln, Retford, Sheffield and Doncaster.

At the present time, there is no weekend service to Gainsborough Central.
