"Goosnargh Oliverson's Primary School is an inclusive school which aims to meet the needs of all pupils applying for a school place. We aim to do this through identification and assessment of need, alongside thoughtful provision to meet needs well and support pupils in achieving their potential. We work closely with pupils, parents and professionals to ensure we can do this wherever possible.

We are committed to ensuring ALL pupils receive quality education and opportunity; this includes full participation in school life. Steps taken to ensure all children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have access to a full and enriched educational experience include:

  • raising awareness, knowledge & skills through staff training

  • ensuring all policies reflect the school's commitment to equal opportunities for children with SEND

  • reviewing policies, including their impact

  • maintaining high expectations for all.

Our SENDCo is Mrs Michelle McCulloch. Our SEND Governor is Mrs Lindy King.

Brief description

"We believe passionately in children having a wonderful childhood and an education that prepares them for their lives ahead. Through what we lovingly call ‘The G Factor’, children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum with high quality education in the National Curriculum alongside a whole host of wider opportunities.

We pride ourselves on providing creative, sporting, community and cultural opportunities, including first-class drama provision and the opportunity to visit another country, as well as a rich diet of extra -curricular activities.

We have very close links with St Mary’s Church and our local community. As part of the Fellside ministry we also have close working relationships with our family of schools. Our Christian values permeate all areas of school life.

We know our children inside out, and we use this knowledge to motivate, encourage and care for them throughout their time at our school. We have a Learning Mentor who is there for our children’s emotional and academic well-being.

Pupil attainment is consistently high at the end of both Key Stages and children are tracked throughout their time at school, to maximise potential and eliminate any under-achievement."
