Brief description
Kelmscott Village is located midway between Witney and Swindon. The village boasts several Listed Buildings, one being Kelmscott Manor, home to William Morris and his family.
There is a description of the village of Kelmscott in the book published by Penguin "Oxfordshire, The Buildings of England" series.
Kelmscott Manor:
William Morris (1834-1896) socialist, artist, and textile designer associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement*, lived in the Manor with his wife and two daughters.
William Morris and his family are buried in nearby St. George's Church graveyard.
