Parking is available in public parking situated and signposted just along from the courthouse. All public and staff areas within the courthouse have been made fully accessible. The courtrooms have induction loops in place.
Brief Description:The courthouse is in the historical centre of the town. It was originally built over , and incorporating the remains of, a sixteenth century castle and an eighteenth century Gaol. Converted to a courthouse in 1792, it deals with district court and circuit court, probate for the counties of Carlow, Kilkenny and Laois, insolvency court and high court appeals for the counties of Kilkenny, Carlow, Waterford, Wexford, Tipperary and Laois.

Open daily Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2.15pm to 4.30pm.
Directions:
On entering Kilkenny via the N10 via Leagh, bear left at roundabout onto the N76. At your third roundabout take a right turn onto Callan Road, then a left after the following roundabout onto Old Callan Road. Continue on this road until next roundabout, taking the third exit onto Dean Street. Then right onto Irishtown leading to Parliament Street, the court house is then on your left. OS SF 448192.
