2025: "Welcome to Lakeland Model Village at Damson Dene Hotel
LAKE DISTRICT FAMILY ATTRACTION LOCATED NEAR TO BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE
The Lakeland Model Village features several dozen buildings made of local Coniston slate, each lovingly constructed over the last 25 years by local builder Edward Robinson. Each building has been handcrafted to replicate some of Cumbria’s most iconic farms and cottages including Beatrix Potters house, Hilltop and the Bridge House, Ambleside.
Following Edward Robinson’s retirement, each building has been carefully relocated to their new home in the grounds of the Damson Dene Hotel against the stunning backdrop of the Lyth Valley, allowing visitors and families the opportunity to enjoy their history once more.
After visiting the Lakeland Model Village, visitors can enjoy lunch in the hotel bar or day passes are available for the hotel swimming pool and leisure club."
"The Damson Dene Hotel has 60 en-suite bedrooms, including 22 superior rooms, some with 4-Poster beds and 3 Hot Tub Cabins.
The hotel leisure club is open from 8am – 9:30pm with a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Day passes are available for visitors to the Lakeland Model Village. Or why not book in to our Indulgence Beauty Rooms for a relaxing massage or facial.
Food is available all day from 12 noon in our bar. We recommended booking a table. Visitors to the Damson Dene Hotel get the best of both possible worlds- a tranquil position in the heart of the countryside and easy access to the main attractions of the South Lakes. Damson Dene is renowned for its friendly welcoming atmosphere and its excellent facilities, which include a swimming pool, gym and its very own visitor attraction- the wonderful Lakeland Model Village.
Guests looking for additional luxury and relaxation can book one of the cabins in the hotel grounds, which have their own private hot-tub and wood-burning stove.
The hotel takes its name from the famous damson orchards nearby. Each year the annual Damson Day festival attracts visitors to herald the arrival of the white damson blossom."

Dining at the Damson Dene is a real pleasure with the setting as good as the dishes on offer. Our menu changes daily and offers a wide choice.
