Accessibility:

Parking is situated directly at the front of grounds, with some allocated parking spaces.

The parking area is laid to tarmac, however the pathways within the grounds are laid to gravel.

The entrance way to Milton Abbey main door has a small step into the archway, and a further step through the doorway. The internal flooring is made up of tile and has some runs of carpet throughout.

Please note there are no public toilets available within the Abbey.


Brief Description:

After a fire destroyed the original church, the current Abbey was started in 1309 but took 100 years to reach it's current size.

The building boasts huge stained glass windows, a white marble tomb, 15th century paintings and a vaulting decorated with carved bosses amongst other things.

Directions:

Situated 10.2 miles from Blandford Forum. Head South on A354 to Winterbourne White Church, bearing right onto Chescombe Lane until you reach Milton Abbas. At Milton Abbas turn left onto unnamed road which will take you past The Three Little Pigs. At the end of the row of houses to your right, turn right onto a small lane which will lead you to Milton Abbey School and Church. Ordnance Survey grid reference: ST798023
