Brief Description:

Rev R J Cooper, Vicar of Fylingdales Parish, purchased this building in 1891 and then had the downstairs room converted into a Coroner’s Room, and a mortuary. From 1900 it was also used for a Reading room and developed into a library which closed in 1987. In 1980 a Museum Trust used the Coroner’s Room to stage an exhibition, and since then it has continued to develop into the museum that stands today.
