Accessibility:
There are on-street parking bays directly outside the church. The church has a ramped entrance providing wheelchair access. There are toilet facilities, including a wheelchair accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. There is a hearing induction loop, and large print hymn books and order of services for the visually impaired. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Brief Description:
St Stephen’s New Church was built between 1868 and 1870 and superseded St Stephen’s Old Church which closed in 1870. It was designed by G E Street and has stained glass windows by Holiday. These windows and the church carvings are reflective of the maritime and agricultural life of the parish.

Open daily between 9am and 4pm. Services on Sunday at 10.45am, and Wednesday at 10.00am.
Directions:
From Whitby via A171 (19.9m). Take Church Street and Spital Bridge to Helredale Road/A171. Follow A171 for 2.2 miles. Turn left onto B1447. Turn right onto Thorpe Lane. Destination will be on your right.
From Scarborough via A171 (16m). Take A165 to High St/A171 in Burniston for 3.5 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto High St/A171 and continue to follow for 10.7 miles. Drive to Thorpe Lane.
