Accessibility:

There is no car park at the church, however there is on street parking in the surrounding roads. An access key can be found at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery. There are steps into the vestry and Nave. Ramp access is available via the rear doors on request.


Brief Description:

St Werburgh's church is a grade II listed building. It was made redundant in 1990 and is currently being preserved by volunteers from the Churches Conservation Trust. The oldest part of the church is its tower, rebuilt in 1601. It is a gothic, 15th Century-style building.

Open every Saturday from 10.30 for a few hours. Access key can be found at the Derby Museum & Art Gallery.



Directions:

Situated 4.9 miles S of Little Eaten. Head S on Alfreton Road and at roundabout take 3rd exit onto A38/Abbey Hill. Continue following Abbey Hill/Queensway, and at roundabout take 1st exit onto A52/Ashbourne Road. Continue along Ashbourne Road. Turn left onto A52 and turn immediate right onto Agard Street. At the end of the road turn right onto A601/Ford Street, then turn left onto Friar Gate/68. The church will be on your left hand side. OS SK349363.
