Accessibility:

There are on-street parking bays situated outside of the church and surrounding roads. Theses are disc display zones. Skinner Street and Albert Place is on a slight incline. The roads are laid to tarmac, with dropped-kerb pavements. The church has a concrete ramp leading to an entrance to the left of the main door.


Brief Description:

Westcliff Congregational Church dates back to 1770. The current church was built in 1867, at a cost of £4,663. It is a Victorian gothic style building, made with local Aislaby stone. Its spire stands at 120 feet tall and is said to be used by trawlermen as a marker when approaching the harbour.

Opening Hours:

Open for Sunday services at 10.30am and 6pm. There is also a youth club held at the church on a Friday from 6.30pm - 9pm, as well as coffee shop open from 10.30am on Fridays.



Directions:

Situated 2.7 miles SE of Sandsend. Head SE on A174. At first small roundabout take 2nd exit and continue on A174. This then becomes Upgang Lane/A174. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on A174. Turn left onto Crescent Avenue and take the first right onto John Street. At the end of the road, turn right onto Bell Vue Terrace, where the church will be on your right hand side. OS NZ896111



Transport:

Buses run in and around the area, with the closest stop situated on Havelock Place. Whitby train station is situated approximately an 8 minute walk from the church. Accessible by car, with on-street parking close by.
