"Tickets are available at a reduced price for disabled customers. There are 3 designated parking spaces for people with disabilities available on the railway’s forecourt. When these spaces are full the Pay and Display car park off Victoria Terrace, behind the station can be used. A pay and display ticket is required in this car park as it is monitored by a camera. There is a drop off point on the Station forecourt; however, cars cannot park in this area.

Only registered support dogs are allowed on our trains. At Snowdon Mountain Railway, we are committed to the provision of equal access for all. An accessible toilet is located at Llanberis Station and a Radar key is required for access. An on-site Radar key can be collected from the Traffic Control or Ticket Office. Any member of staff will be happy to assist on request.

Hafod Eryri – Snowdon Summit Visitor Centre: For Mobility affected passengers, it is accessible by a wheelchair lift at the train passenger entrance to the building. The shop and café are then fully accessible. There are whispering windows in the building providing customers with audio information of the surrounding area. A disabled access toilet is located at the rear of Hafod Eryri.

Trains:  The Llanberis Platform can be accessed via 2 steps or a ramp – our staff will be happy to give assistance if required.

All of our contemporary carriages have ramped access for a wheelchair. It is advisable to pre-book on +44(0)1286 870 223 to guarantee a wheelchair space. Our staff will be happy to give any assistance required.

Manual wheelchairs are available for customers with restricted mobility to use at Llanberis and the Summit Stations.

There is insufficient space in the carriages to accommodate prams, pushchairs, children’s car seats, walking frames, mobility scooters or folded wheelchairs. These items can be left, at the owners risk at the platform in Llanberis, please ask a member of staff for assistance.

Trains may terminate at Rocky Valley (just over half way) or Clogwyn (three quarters of the way to the Summit). Neither of these destinations have toilet facilities. No passengers can disembark at Rocky Valley. Passengers using wheelchairs are able to exit the train at Clogwyn onto the platform. The terrain off the platform at Clogwyn is mountainous and may not be suitable for wheelchair users."

Directions

The Snowdon Mountain Railway station is in Llanberis (LL55 4TU), just off the A4086, with parking available behind the station. The nearest mainline station is Bangor, around 10 miles away, and local buses stop at Llanberis Maes Padarn.

We have a small pay-and-display car park behind the station on Victoria Terrace (LL55 4TU) with two machines accepting coins or card via QR code. Parking may be limited at peak times.

Additional car parks are available opposite the station, though these are not managed by Snowdon Mountain Railway. Please arrive at least 1 hour before departure, as latecomers cannot be accommodated.

"Hafod Eryri opens from 10.00 am daily from the 1st of May to the 25th of October (weather permitting) and will close 20-minutes before the last train leaves the summit. On bad weather days and when access to the summit via train is not possible, Hafod Eryri will remain closed.

All pre-booked tickets can be collected from the ticket office at Llanberis Station on the day of your booking. Simply present your booking reference number or confirmation to retrieve your tickets.

Single tickets to travel up the mountain are available to purchase online. Single tickets for travel down the mountain cannot be pre-booked. They are only available for purchase at the summit and are subject to availability."

The Snowdon Mountain Railway station is in Llanberis (LL55 4TU), just off the A4086, with parking available behind the station. The nearest mainline station is Bangor, around 10 miles away, and local buses stop at Llanberis Maes Padarn. The Sherpa'r Wyddfa bus service travels around the base of Yr Wyddfa stopping at various locations, each a short distance from walking paths to the summit. The Llanberis bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the railway station.

2026: "Our fully licensed Station Buffet and Platform Grill serve a tasty variety of hot and cold drinks and snacks, as well as a selection of cakes. You can even enjoy a Whippy or soft scoop ice cream from our vintage ice cream tram.

The summit café at Hafod Eryri, the highest refuelling station in the UK, serves hot and cold beverages and an assortment of ‘grab and go’ food.

The gift shop at Llanberis Station is housed in the original booking hall from 1896, with exposed beams and authentic Victorian shop fittings to enhance the station's heritage. The shop offers a selection of authentic Welsh products, including locally crafted ales and spirits, unique Snowdon Mountain Railway souvenirs and merchandise, clothing and Celtic jewellery.

Gifts, clothing and souvenirs unique to Snowdon and the railway can also be purchased in the summit gift shop at Hafod Eryri. You can even send a postcard from our very own summit post box!

"To ensure the comfort and safety of all our passengers, we only allow assistance animals to be brought on board our trains. As a heritage narrow-gauge railway, our carriages have limited space, and unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind regardless of their nature, with the exception of registered assistance animals. Due to the carriage compartments, it wouldn't be a nice experience for pets either.

This policy has been put in place following previous experiences where pets caused disruptions, including incidents of barking, fouling, guests having allergic reactions and even animals fighting with each other. Guest experience is paramount and this decision is based on that.

Can I take a rucksack, pushchair or bike onto the train?

We apologise for the inconvenience, but we are unable to accommodate large, bulky items due to limited space. However, pushchairs can be left (at the owner's risk) at the platform in Llanberis Station. These can then be collected on your return."
