Brief description
St Barnabus Church is an iconic building in High Street, Gilfach Goch which has stood since the late 1890's. It was bombed during the Second World War and was reconstructed into the building that still stands today. The congregation can enjoy a multitude of events held here, especially around christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas, with midnight mass being held here every Christmas Eve. The church serves weddings, christenings and funerals for the parishioners within the community of Gilfach Goch and Tonyrefail. Currently the vicar, Ruth Moverley, is holding services every Sunday at 5pm, along with other services being held throughout the month.
The church hall is also located on the premises which holds the Mother's Union meetings every second Thursday of the month at 7pm. The hall can also be hired out for private use at the cost of £7.50 per hour.
