Accessibility:


Wheelchair–accessible throughout majority of venue including main entrance and from car par. Motorised disabled tour vehicle is available to hire for free, some parts of the site may present orientation difficulties to the visually impaired, large print guide books are available to hire for free. All buildings have information boards outside them. A Changing Places unit is available.

Dogs are allowed on site providing they are kept on leads, but are not permitted in the buildings (except assistance dogs). Accessible toilets, baby–changing facilities, no-smoking, disability parking, and a car park short distance from the entrance for £5 per day although there is no charge for disabled motorists. Wheelchairs available on request, prams and pushchairs welcome but not permitted in historical buildings. Contact the venue directly for further accessibility information.


Brief description:


A collection of over 40 historical buildings set on 100 acres of parkland on the grounds of St Fagans castle and gardens, a 16th century manor house which was donated to Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1948.

The Museum is signposted from Junction 33 of the M4 motorway (follow road signs for the Museum of Welsh Life), with direct access from the southbound carriageway of the A4232. (If driving northwards, go to the roundabout at Junction 33 and then turn onto the southbound carriageway of the A4232.) OS SO 117772
