Accessibility:

The museum has its own car park with disability spaces near to the entrance. The car park is free for blue badge holders, but all other vehicles must pay a £6 charge [as at March 2023]. See https://museum.wales/stfagans/visit/access/

Most of the museum is wheelchair accessible, however, due to the historic nature of some of the exhibits there are some places that might not be suitable. Moveable ramps and a lift are available at the Oakdale Workmen's Institute.

Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge on a first-come basis. A motorised Disabled Tour Vehicle (DTV) is available to transport visitors around the site, (bookings for this free service must be made 2 weeks in advance by telephoning (029) 2057 3500), but if you wish to see the museum at your own pace you can purchase a map for 50p which will display suggested paths for wheelchair users, and identifies steep gradients.

Large print guide books are available free on loan and all of the buildings have information boards located outside them. "2 Changing Places toilets available, as are other accessible toilets, which are located at the main entrance, adjacent to the Rhyd-y-car cottages and in Castle Yard. There are two 'Changing Places’ facilities available including one with an electronic bed and hoist in addition to the toilet and other facilities there. Ask a member of staff for details."
