Recently new paths have been laid together with new seating and noticeboards. On-street parking is all round the church, but please do not park between the stone columns. There is also on-street parking on North and South roads but be aware of a rough stone chipping patch before thechurchyard. Visitors must make an appointment if they need to offload heavy items at the church door. The paths are good and entry to the church flat, with four steps up to the altar.
Brief description
St Mary the Virgin, Grade II listed, was built in 1864 and the tower was added in 1877. The war memorial is also grade II listed.

Directions
From the A1M going north, take exit 62 and take the third exit to Sunderland and follow this road for a mile or so. Take first left, Lambton View, follow this road and turn off left at Benridge Bank. The road veers right then left and the church is on your left, in South Street which is in the centre of the village.
