The Church is set upon raised ground within the churchyard. Access to the Church from the road outside is by a gently ascending (slightly uneven) gravel path located next to the Church's external Notice Board. Road-side car parking available only.
The main entrance/exit to the Church is the South Porch which has step access/egress to the porch and to the main area of the Church beyond. The Church also has two, side entrances/exits (emergency exits), one of which is partially wheelchair-accessible to the internal corridor leading to the exterior door via a disabled access ramp (so some assistance maybe required with the entrance/exit door step.
Access to the Church Bell Tower within the building is accessible via a circular staircase only.
Brief description
St Mary's Church is set in a rural location, close to the village centre in Great Bradley, near to the River Stour, close to the West Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border. It is a 'Grade II' listed building with some parts dating back to the 12th Century. Interesting features include carved stonework, Organ, stained glass, WW1 Roll of Honour and Bell Tower. A number of historical records are on display in the church dating back to 1701. (A Church Guide for £2 is available).
