Accessibility:

There is a flat, tarmacked parking area outside the lychgate of the church yard with space for several cars. The entrance is through a paved lychgate onto a flat, tarmacked path leading to the church entrance, with a small step down which is made accessible by a wooden ramp. There are toilets, but there is a two inch step up to them and there are no disability facilities. The interior is laid to stone and carpet with a small step into the pew areas, which are raised on low plinths.

Brief Description:

The current Grade II* listed St Mary's Church building was largely renovated in 1711 after being described in 1710 as being 'disused and roofless'. It was renovated again in 1860. Built of limestone rubble it has a two bay chancel, three bay nave, north aisle with three bays, three storey west tower and transeptal vestry.

There are some hints at the building's medieval roots with a blocked doorway in the south wall and a medieval doorway leading to the vestry. The tower is still largely 12th century with later additions and repairs. The organ, pulpit and stalls all date from the early to mid 20th century.
