Details
Accessibility:
There is no parking at the lifeboat station itself and it is only accessible on foot. However, the pathway is flat and tarmacked and wide enough for a wheelchair, even though it is sloping in places. The entrance to the station itself is across a fully-accessible wooden bridge and the doorway is flat and wide.
Brief Description:
There has been a lifeboat stationed at Tenby since 1852. It has been under the control of the RNLI since 1854 and the old boathouse, built in 1905, was converted into a private house after the new, present lifeboat station was built 2005. The lifeboat station has a shop and a public viewing gallery where you can see both the all-weather and in-shore lifeboats. There are also events throughout the year where the RNLI are either working as safety boats or are demonstrating and raising funds.
