Accessibility:


The museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users with flat drives and entrances. There is a disability toilet facility with alarm cords and grab rails. The museum has wheelchair-accessible lifts to its upper floors. A wheelchair is available for visitor use if booked in advance and a portable hearing induction loop is available at the information desk. The museum can also provide magnifying glasses and some museum staff are trained in guided-sighting. 

Brief Description:

The museum’s aim is to preserve the heritage of Tiverton by collecting objects and artefacts belonging to Tiverton’s history. Without the work being done by the museum it is feared that many items will perish and be lost. Exhibits include a GWR steam engine, a farm wagon and various displays showing the history of agriculture in the area.

Directions:

Travelling east or west on the A361 towards the west side of Tiverton, turn south onto the A3126 and continue across the round-a-bout of Lea Road. At the next round-a-bout continue on the A3126 south west across the river Exe following the road south. Continue south until reaching the round-a-bout of the A396. Take the A396 east and on the first round-a-bout turn north into Phoenix Lane. Take the first exit west into St. George’s Way and the museum will be visible on the west side of the road. There is adjacent pay-and-display parking.
