Brief description
"Wales has just come through a spell of intensely cold weather, while many struggle to heat their homes because of the rising cost of living.
So has the opening of "warm banks" across the country helped?
More than 300 hubs have been set up since October - in places like libraries, community centres, cafes and churches - providing a free warm place for people to go.
Free drinks are offered, as well as activities, advice or simply a chat." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-64032220
Carmarthenshire has also a warm hubs map of locations available on the council's website to direct people to services.
Warm places and Warm welcome spaces (Page updated on: 16/12/2022)
Warm places and warm welcome spaces are places where residents can spend time to keep warm over the winter months
Dedicated warm places have been set up in Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford libraries. Newspapers, magazines, computers/ iPad's and a television are available in a comfortable seating area. You can also join in any activities that are being held. Teas and coffees will be available free of charge.
We have also encouraged communities to provide Warm Welcome Spaces within their communities, to think creatively about the type of events that can provide a warm and welcoming space for those most in need in their communities over the winter months."
